I’ve never been one to wear blush, or rouge as our grandmothers called it. And the idea of wearing blush has always seemed antiquated to me as well. Maybe it’s because my fair skin has always made any colour on my cheeks look more like I was wearing face paint rather than glowing from within.
That is until I found MAC’s “Blush Of Youth” Beauty Powder from its Rose Romance makeup collection. Just a sweep of this over my cheeks, shoulders and decollete give me that freshly plucked glow. And just this week, the luminous look was on the red carpet at Cannes.
If your skin has more of a medium or olive tone, then look to Angelina Jolie and Asia Argento for inspiration. The two actresses demonstrated how a peachy pink blush, like The Balm‘s “Hot Mama” all-in-one blush, highlighter and eyeshadow, looks sizzling on darker skin by giving it a sun-kissed look.
