I have to hand it to Soap & Glory for catching my attention on the crowded drug store shelf. The collection of bath and beauty products from Canadian Marcia Kilgore, who launched the uber-successful Bliss Spa chain, features cheeky names and retro-styled packaging. The cut & paste collages with black & white photos of women who look like they were ripped from the pages of my grandmother’s stacks of ’60s Family Circle magazines are what first drew me in. But the pink bottles with pulp fiction-style images weren’t the only thing that I found to be gloriously sudsy.
With the Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel a little goes a long way. Only a small dollop is needed to work up a velvety lather and the built-in body lotion leaves my skin feeling moisturized and with a slight glisten. After showering, apply The Righteous Butter Body Lotion. It’s creamy formula has smoothing fruit acids, Shea butter and Aloe Vera. What I really enjoy most is Soap & Glory’s signature scent – a mix of bergamot, peach, strawberry, jasmine, mandarin and musk – that I find to be both elegant and comforting reminding me of the trusted and fanciful creams and lotions that used to crowd my grandmother’s dresser.
